
Hakan Yücel
Assoc. Prof. Hakan Yücel is a faculty member at Galatasaray University, Department of Political Science. He graduated from Marmara University's French Public Administration Department Undergraduate Program in 1995 and completed his Master’s Program in 1998. He holds a PhD in Sociology, which he obtained in 2006, defending his doctoral thesis titled “Une identité générationnelle-territoriale? : les jeunes d'origine alévie du quartier Gazi d’Istanbul” [“A generational-territorial identity? : young people of Alevi origin in the Gazi district of Istanbul”] at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
Hakan Yücel's main areas of research encompass youth sociology, identity-space relations, minority identities, social movements, and popular culture. As an accomplished academic, Assoc. Prof. Hakan Yücel's research contributions have been significant in the fields of Political Science and Sociology, particularly in exploring the dynamics of youth, examining identity formations, and understanding societal movements.
